Greece, Athens
GDP $27,073; While in this beautiful country my very first stop was to the Parthenon. This was a greek temple construction began in 447 BC and was completed in 438 BC. It was built in dedication to the greek goddess Athena. This temple replaced an older temple of Athena which the historians call the Pe-Parthenon. The Pre-Parthenon was during the Persian invasion of 480 BC. It was rebuilt in line with the stars of Hyades. The temple was built as a treasury just like most greek temples. The temple had been converted into a christian church dedicated to the Virgin Mary in 5th century AD. My second stop in Greece was to the Meteora. The Meteora is the second most important monastery built, coming in second to Mount Athos. Six monasteries were built on the sandstone rock, on the northwestern part of the Pindus Mountains located in central Greece.
